- Turn oxygen ON
- Turn alarm ON
- Turn scavenger system ON
Prep-Room
- Clean/disinfect exam table
- Clock with second hand
- Hair clipper with #40 blade
- Spare #40 blade
- Blade cleaner
- Vaccum/Dustbuster
- Scrub solution/alcohol/sterile sponges/sterile hand towel/topical spray (depending on your hospital protocol)
- Garbage can
- Anesthesia machine – see our “Basic Anesthesia Machine Set-Up”
- Stethoscope
- Pulse Ox and wet gauze pads to help keep the tongue moist
- Portable crash cart
- Supplies for induction – See our “Patient Induction Supply Checklist”
- Gurney for transporting patient or additional staff
Surgery Room
- Clean/disinfect all areas of the room, this includes but is not limited to: overhead lights, surgery tables, anesthesia machines, mayo stand, monitors, etc. Remember when cleaning, start from the overhead lights and work your way down.
- Kick bucket or garbage can
- Clock with second hand
- Anesthesia machine – see our “Basic Anesthesia Machine Set-Up”
- Heat source, Baer Hugger, circulating water blanket – See a recent forum discussion
- Stethoscope
- Pulse Ox and wet gauze pads to help keep the tongue moist
- Blood Pressure Monitor
- Capnography
- Ventilator
- Portable crash cart
- Laser unit/handle/tips/exhaust PRN
- Portable light
- Chair
- Appropriate surgical supplies for current procedure only
